Law

Our Law Program is designed to ensure that displaced persons and informal workers have access to justice and the legal tools they need to protect their rights. Through research, training, and strategic advocacy, the program empowers communities to engage with legal systems and influence policy reforms that address their needs.

Empowering Through Legal Knowledge:
We equip member organizations with practical knowledge, training, and resources to understand labor laws, human rights protections, and development regulations. By building legal literacy, we help displaced informal workers navigate challenges and advocate for their rights effectively.

Connecting Communities to Legal Support:
Beyond organizational support, the program links individuals to pro bono lawyers and legal aid networks. This ensures that displaced persons and informal workers have access to professional legal guidance for labor disputes, discrimination cases, or other rights violations.

Advocacy for Systemic Change:
The program drives policy advocacy at local, national, and global levels, highlighting the needs of displaced informal workers in legal and development frameworks. By engaging policymakers, civil society, and international stakeholders, we work to create lasting reforms that protect marginalized communities.

Inclusive and Intersectional Approach:
Recognizing the diverse challenges faced by displaced persons—including those related to gender, disability, or mental health—the program promotes inclusive legal strategies. Every initiative considers intersectional factors to ensure equity and responsiveness.

Capacity Building and Organizational Strengthening:
Member organizations receive tailored guidance to strengthen leadership, governance, and advocacy capabilities. This empowers them to act as effective agents of change, championing legal reforms and supporting community members in accessing justice.
